The Swiss cities of Berne and Zurich are less than three hours distant. Return day trips to Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the north of England are also possible.
The short cross-channel flights to Le Touquet, Dieppe, Deaville, Caen and Cherbourg in northern France mean that pleasure travellers can easily make a day trip to the fashionable beach resorts along the Cote d'Opale, the wonderfully quaint town of Honfleur, the battlefields of the Somme, the Normandy invasion beaches or horse races at Deauville.
