Following one month on site in Libya, Capt Stuart Rawlinson (AERO ALLIANCE's Chief Pilot) has also been appointed Chief Pilot for Flight Calibration Services. This position involves being responsible for the day to day operation of the flight calibration aircraft ensuring the crews are fully trained to the highest level. Once more this illustrates the diversity of skills within the AERO ALLIANCE team and the confidence that the general aviation industry has in AERO ALLIANCE operations.

The flight calibration pilot role involves combining surveying support to the flight calibration inspector on the ground as well as delivering very demanding low level flying to a very high level of accuracy to ensure that the airfield approach systems are correctly calibrated.

This week saw both pilots from the AERO ALLIANCE team on duty with the flight calibration unit in Londonderry to commission a new ILS system which involved flying numerous approaches in a PA31 Chieftain throughout four days of calibration.
