Every so often we get called upon to support flying customer planes from some distant locations to the UK. This time I had the pleasure of flying one of our clients planes back from a small airstrip east of Malaga to Goodwood.

After taking a 2hour 2mins flight from Gatwick to Malaga, followed by a short taxi journey to La Axarquia Leoni Benabu aerodrome; I picked up the client’s plane from the maintenance hanger.

The plane was thoroughly checked and fuelled before departing over the sea then turning 180 degrees to climb over the 9000ft coastal mountains. With no significant weather to effect the crossing of the Spanish peninsula, the red colour of the ground and the clear views of the country contrasting against the blue sky always makes this journey a pleasure.

Just under 3 hours we were passing the Pyrenees on our right and preparing for an instrument approach Bordeaux due to some tricky weather. After landing at Bordeaux, the aircraft was quickly re-fuelled so we could continue our 2 hour journey across France, then over the English Channel to Goodwood.

Our client was very pleased to have his aircraft back in the UK and thankful to Aero Alliance for another good days work. Total Flight time from Malaga 5hours 15minutes.
