Last weekend Aero Alliance were tasked to fly to Alderney for a group day out with one of our new clients. This weekend happened to be the annual Alderney sprint and hillclimb weekend.

Being Saturday it was Alderney's annual Hillclimb racing day where the Islanders congregate and race their home built cars up the coastal track. This only one of three days of racing on the Island which commences with the sprint on the Friday on the stunningly fast Fort Corbelets course and then a two day Hillclimb on Saturday and Sunday held at the equally stunning and fast Fort Tourgis course.(some of the most breathtaking views of any speed event)

The racing is taken pretty seriously by the locals and is good fun for the visiting crowds as the noise of the engines takes over from what is normally a very calm, quiet and peaceful destination.

What was good about this event is that the public road is sealed off for the day and the public can get up close to cars as they speed by.

The track is quite challenging being quite narrow with an immediate left hander straight after the start followed by a steep incline past the castle.

There are several different entry categories to the days event, all highly competitive.

Note 2011 will be the 20th Anniversary for the Alderney Uphill racing event, so next year will be extra special for the racing teams and racers outside Alderney will no doubt be required to raise the level of competition and make the weekend that extra special.
If you think you have what it takes to beat the locals in this uphill event you don't have to ship your car to Alderney to compete. AERO ALLIANCE can fly your car and equipment as well as yourselves to Alderney in 45 minutes direct from Shoreham Airport.
I'm sure the locals will relish the extra outside competition for this anniversary event.
