Aero Alliance achieve impressive AOG response time of under two hours.

This week saw Aero Alliance improve it's response time to under two hours to get airborne from the initial "go-now"call. Our response time has been improved due to implementation of Aero Alliance rapid response procedures, team integration and utilising our experience in dealing with "critical component delivery".

Just after 10am Aero Alliance took the all important call from Aliance to get two heavy MD11 carbon disk brakes (each weighing 200KG) from Shoreham to Liege. The Aero Alliance coordinating director alerts the duty pilot of the AOG situation and discusses contract terms. Aero Alliance are well suited to undertaking AOG work due to their location of 10miles from the Aircraft parts storage area in Partridge Green. Thus, aircraft parts can be delivered to Shoreham Airport within one our of being released.

Key logistic decisions were made immediately by the duty pilot to ensure that the cargo could be delivered imediately and direct to the aircraft. At Aero Alliance we realisie that the first 30 minutes of an AOG are critical and the duty pilot calls the AOG team into action to risk asses the job and the speed it can be done. In the case of this job we had to be sure we could beat the French air traffic industrial action and deliver the critical AOG cargo in the Aero Alliance target time of sub 2 hours + flight time.

Within 90 minutes the aircraft seats were removed and the cabin re-configured, flight plans were in, aircraft fuel loaded and the cargo loaded and secured into the hold. Final aircraft walk around checks and crew briefing were then completed and the crew ready to go.

12:00 engines were running and Aero Alliance depart Shoreham Airport and take to the air. The flight was planned direct Liege and undertaken VFR to avoid French Air Traffic industrial action.

13:20 (1hour 20mins flight time) Aero Alliance were on the ground in Liege and park up right next to the Aviance MD11. The cargo was immediately off loaded by Aliance support crew.

13:30 Aero Alliance assist with unpacking the disk units and ensure the customer was happy with the cargo.

14:30 Aliance MD11 gets airborne - Aero Alliance AOG meet their 2 hour target once more due to professional discipline and combined team effort !!!
