The only time the aircraft and crew rest

Our work horse Piper PA31 Chieftain was delivered to our Maintenance Base at Redhill by Andy Bland and Mike Parsons.  Just like cars aircraft have to have service intervals or commonly known as "checks".  These checks are done in time terms, not mileage and range from 50 hour checks where the engines are examined in depth plus the airframe and systems to the larger hour checks where wings are x-rayed to check the main spars inside and engines are overhauled; whether they visually need it or not!

Every single check is mandatory, and this one no exception.  The whole aircraft will be checked over from the front oleo to all 4 magneto's. Our Piston engines will and have worked from +30 degrees C to -30 degrees C, so they are extremely well build for all sorts of environments and temperatures.  Our Charter Captain has recently come back from Malaga for example.  As we have a select few pilots they really know their aircraft well, which enables them to feel and hear if anything isn't quite right before any indication is apparent.
