One family from Kent were due to fly back from Spain on a scheduled airliner after a summer break holiday.
Unfortuantly during the holiday the child contracted Chicken Pox and was denied travel with their booked carrier, so leaving the family to make their own way back, a gruelling 1000 mile drive, estimated to take 2-3 days by car.
AERO ALLIANCE received the emergency repatriation request at 5pm. Crews were readied immediately and the aircraft was deployed at 07:30 the following morning.
The flight down to Madrid was only 4 hours door to door from the AERO ALLIANCE base, Shoreham (Brighton City) Airport in our BE58 Beechcraft Baron.
The family were met at the assigned terminal building with a swift transfer to the aircraft. As the children who were quite young did not want to sit in one place for more than a couple of hours, a comfort stop of 30 minutes was planned at Bordeaux to break the journey up. This was easily planned for, adding only 30 minutes to the total trip time. The flight continued to Shoreham which allowed for a swift transfer to the awaiting car, allowing the family to get the children home and comfortable.
The overall service was custom planned to the family requirements. The flight times allowed the family to leave the hotel at lunch time, ensuring their was no delays or waiting around which is considered the norm with air travel these days. The flight left Spain at 13:00 and arrived in Sussex at 17:00.
