Aero Alliance have signed up their first 2 IMC students who will embark on the IMC rating at the Shoreham Airport Training Facility.
Unlike other local training facilities, all of our IMC/IR Instructors have many years of commercial flying experience in the single crew charter world, one of the toughest flying environments. Two of our senior instructors are instructors for a CAA approved Flight Calibration firm, teaching the most accurate pilots in the country to become even more accurate. Fortunately for our students, they love teaching all levels of qualification, so can offer their vast experience at a great rate, cheaper than most basic PPL instructors at the local flying schools.
The Instrument Meteorological Rating (IMC) course is natural step forward for those who have qualified for their Private Pilots Licence. It permits pilots to fly safely in poor weather conditions, although its real purpose is to ensure that a flight may safely continue should the pilot inadvertently encounter bad weather conditions en-route.
The IMC course consists of a minimum of 15 hours flying instruction. At the end of the course there is a flight test and a written examination.
In order to be able to commence an IMC course you need a PPL with an RT Licence. Before taking the flight test at the end of the course, 10 hours pilot in command (PIC) - 5 hours of which must be cross country flying all gained after the PPL course, must also be completed.
The flying exercises start with the basic instrument flying to include straight & level, turning, climbing and descending and recovery from unusual attitudes on both full and limited panel. After this has been completed you will go on to the applied stage which will include radio navigation and instrument approaches, this will enable you to being able to navigate with sole reference to instruments from point A to point B, at the end of which you will be able to complete a safe instrument approach at the destination airfield.
The course is competitively priced and includes all flight training and groundschool.
Our Commercial Instructors offer a wealth of experience at a competitive rate of just £30 per hour.
Why not develop your flying for a fraction of the price? And why not take advantage of our C152 and PA28 rates which are guaranteed to beat most others, saving you money!
